What you really don’t realize is how much you change. On Friday morning you walk in with your current way of thinking and mind set. On Sunday, you walk away with a new creative environment of possibilities and you’re filled with Good Energy.
I went to Pat O’Bryan’s UnSeminar 8 about a month ago. I’ve been to numbers 5,6, and 7 also. You might ask yourself why do you keep going back and I asked myself the very same question when I heard about UnSeminar 8. There where some new speakers, but I’d heard a majority of them before. They might have some new tricks to learn and Pat always brings in such good speakers in I knew the ones I hadn’t heard before would be great.
And of course hearing Joe Vitale speak is always worth the price of admission.
But I was pretty much in information overload mode and was so busy processing and putting into action what I’d already learned I was really asking myself if I should go to my fourth UnSeminar.
I don’t know how Pat does it, but brings together the most energetic, creative and inspiring people at his events. And I don’t mean the typical rah-rah bull$*&! either.
These folks are truly working on cool, meaningful projects and we spend three days hanging out, creating products and services, making business deals and forming partnerships all while having a partying good time. It’s a blast and I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. The last one was in Austin Texas. Good call, Pat. He says it was the last UnSeminar. I hope not.
I’m sure of one thing, the creative environment that gets created in you at an UnSeminar is a beautiful and wonderful thing that should be maintained and protected fiercely.
You are so entirely different when you walk out from when you walked in. The creativity, the support, the understanding, the free exchange of knowledge and resources, the business building, the friendships the get created, and the overall environment is like nothing you normally experience in daily life.
The media, your friends and family, your employer and co-workers, through no fault of their own whittle away at his environment unless you actively protect it with everything you’ve got.
So how do you do that? Protect an internal environment?
You must control the input and the processing of the energy you allow into your belief system.
Ok, so how do you do that?
- Turn off the TV. You will be amazed how much time and clarity you have once you’ve done this. But I can’t go without seeing….yes you can. After a shorter time that you think you’ll be over it.
- Replace that time and input with positive, creative, and inspiring thoughts, ideas, and language. Actively seek out negative patterns in the tv you watch (assuming you don’t do #1), the books you read, conversations you have, and in the way you react to situations and events. Interrupt yourself and break those patterns.
- Begin to seek out new people to have conversations and exchange ideas with. A great way to do this is masterminding or group brainstorming.
- Embrace change and failing. If you were happy where you were you wouldn’t be seeking change. Since you’re seeking change and transformation…Get on with it!
- Take “inspired action”. I got this phrase from Dr. Joe Vitale. He has always included in his writing and talks pleas and very nearly begs for everyone to take actions when you receive inspiration. Inspiration is not just the realm of musicians, artists, writers. We all have our own versions of inspiration and creativity. Embrace it, trust it, know that’s it’s always there for you to call upon.
Of course there’s more stuff you can do, but these a simple and extremely powerful. In general, we complicate things way too much in darn near all aspects of our lives. These steps are deceptively simple and unexpectedly powerful. Don’t just read this and go “yeah, he’s right” or ..not. Go out a try it.
None of this new or earth shattering, but just try these 5 things and I guarantee you will rock your own world and a few other while you’re at it.
So did I go to UnSemnar 8… You’d better believe it. Did I enjoy it? As we say here in Texas, “I’ll tell you what!”
So how do I create and maintain a new creative environment? Here’s some help.
Peace and Good Energy to you,
